The Nordic season will begin on January 4th and the school website should be available for skiers to sign up. At this time the team will start practices and the first competition will be delayed until we receive further information as to when and how that will be allowed to take place.

Parents,
Per the governors order, the earliest that the Nordic season could start would be December 21st. At this time there isn’t any additional information available yet and no official season start date.

Skiers,
If you have the ability to get outside to run, rollerski, or ski on snow take advantage of that. Just a reminder that we should not gather with people outside of our household for captains practice or in training groups at this time.

The start of the season is Monday, November 30th. There isn’t a whole lot of information other than the restrictions from the high school league:

Nordic skiing guidance

A couple of important parts:
1. No invitationals this season (no Mesabi or ABC relays)
2. Triangular meets within our conference
3. No access to a chalet this season
4. There will be restrictions on where parents can stand to watch meets
5. Masks will be required
6. Races are limited to 1 lap

Summer Nordic Training has kicked off this week. If you haven’t had time to sign up, it’s not too late and there is room for additional skiers.

Here are the details:
Monday, June 15th thru Friday, August 7th
No contact Days: July 3rd – July 5th

Practice days and Locations:
M, Tu, Th: Lifetime parking lot in Champlin. Time: 6:30 PM – 8:30 PM*
W, F: Bunker Hills Activity Center. Time: 11:00 AM – 12:30 PM
*Exceptions: Time Trials will be held Th 6/25 and Th 8/6.

Cost:
$150 includes roller skis for those who do not have their own pair

Be sure to let Coach Drew Clark know which type of binding system you use if you are renting roller skis.
What you will need:
• Ski boots
• Roller skis (The team will provide rental skis to those who do not have them, until supplies run out, for no additional cost)
• Ski poles with roller ferrules (the team has a limited number of poles that will be distributed on a first come first serve basis)
• Helmet (No athlete will be allowed to roller ski without a helmet)
• Water bottle with belt so you can have it while you ski
